We built Acacia around a simple idea: that the founders of growing businesses need sound counsel who stays — one who understands the whole business, sees around corners, and is there through every stage of the journey.

Acacia is a business and legal advisory consultancy that works with founder-run companies across their lifetime. Some have been with us for over twenty years, from their earliest days to real maturity; others are earlier in the story. Across all of them, our role is the same: to be the trusted counsel who grows with the business, anticipates what's coming, and keeps the company protected as the stakes rise.
We provide strategic legal, commercial and corporate advice, and — increasingly — act as the outsourced general counsel for businesses that have outgrown ad-hoc legal support but aren't ready for a full-time hire. We are flexible and agile in how we work, but rigorous and practical in how we apply the law to the realities of running and growing a business.
We work across diverse sectors, with particular depth in infrastructure, natural resources, healthcare and technology — and particular experience in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and the corporate and commercial questions that shape a company's future.
What we are — and what we're not
Acacia is a legal and corporate advisory consultancy. We are not a law firm or a registered legal practice, and we don't hold ourselves out as one. What we offer is senior strategic advice, an outsourced general-counsel function, and the commercial judgment to keep your business protected and moving.
We do not undertake reserved legal work — litigation, conveyancing or notarial services. Where a matter calls for that, we scope it, bring in suitably admitted attorneys, and manage the work on your behalf, so you get the right expertise without losing a single point of accountability.
This is a deliberate choice. Sitting outside the traditional regulated-firm model is exactly what lets us embed in your business, stay flexible, and keep the cost predictable.
Noel Luhanga
Acacia is led by Noel Luhanga, a corporate and commercial lawyer who has spent his career alongside founders and growing businesses. His experience spans a major South African law firm, a global renewable energy company, and a diversified mining and resources group — in project finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, and business development.
For the founders he works with, Noel isn't an outside adviser brought in when things go wrong. He's the person who's been there since the early stages, understands the whole business, and provides senior judgment on every engagement — a sounding board as much as an adviser. He is well regarded for his integrity, his straightforward and thorough manner, and a results-oriented approach to solving problems.
